But The Incredible Hulk #181 has escaped my grasp. I’ve found plenty of other worthwhile comics, with my rather shoddy but beloved copy of The Avengers #1 that I discovered at an antique store near Seattle for $10 leading the way. You know…the first appearance of Wolverine? 1 Over my lifetime, I’ve looked through hundreds – probably thousands! – of long boxes, hopeful of uncovering my comic book holy grail. They are typically loaded with variations on the same formula – the usual mix of The ‘Nam, inessential ’80s issues of Batman and Detective Comics, and I’m pretty sure every copy of New Universe related titles in existence – but my quest has always been in pursuit of one comic: The Incredible Hulk #181. I’ll be honest: it’s rare something does. Or don't.Īs revat said, this is definitely in the wrong forum for this and you should post the info here:Īlso, posting the Certification numbers from your CGC books would probably help. There are few things I enjoy more than looking through long or short boxes I find in antique stores, thrift shops, flea markets or wherever else, hopeful something special will reveal itself. I encourage you to think about what questions people might ask and put more than the minimum effort into making it easier for these people to help you. You are asking complete strangers on an internet forum that you have no relationship with to do you a favor and spend time and effort to help you with something. Do you have a store? Do you lug comics around to shows to sell? Do you sell online and maybe you sent them to someone by accident? Pictures of books? But if/when you do post there, I'd consider posting more details about the comics if you have them, but also other information about your specific situation, like the time window you might have lost the comics, and the location, and the other situations where you may have lost the comic. I'd consider posting in the General Discussion Forum. That is understandable, as you appear to be new. If i'm reading this right, and its honestly not clear, but it seems like you are not attempting to buy comics, even though this is a "Want to buy" forum, but are looking for comics that have been lost or stolen. three copies, two CGC 9.8/9.6 and one near mint non CGC. one copy, this one was pretty beat up but if you see one of these come in with a combination of the other books it’s a good indicator. One copy may still have descriptive sticker from the retailer I purchased it from. three copies, one in fine condition, one in near mint, and one in mint w/identifiable characteristic of production error - pages were no completely cut and small section of paper left attached at lower right corner. The biggest giveaways would be the Iron Man #1 since it’s from the Oakland collection, The Captain America #100 with unique cover damage, and the Amazing Spider-Man #129 with the unique production error. I have included a list below of the main issues that may show up in a group(s) together, many have those distinctions about them that make them one of a kind. I’m really hoping someone here has seen something that can help me trace down what happened. I can not pinpoint the exact date they were taken, but many of them are very distinct. I recently reorganized my collection to find a significant amount of key issues missing. I am really hoping to get some assistance.
